In each tense at any stage of action, the sentence may bear affirmative form, or negative form, or interrogative from or even interrogative - negative form.
Note a point that senses are, mainly, recognised by the use of a verb in a particular way. the portion of the verb that may be much use to us here covers the areas of the main verb and helping verb.
In a sentence, comprising of any tense, the use of the main verb is a must. then, a good study on 'conjunction of verbs' or three forms of verbs is sought for. A list of it is given at the end of the book.
So far as helping verbs are concerned, they are used variedly in different tenses. especially, auxiliary verbs re meant here; do, does, did, is, am, are, was, were, shall, will, has, have, had, etc. these are the verbs which before the subject in an interrogative sentence.
