Present Simple Tense
(Affirmative Sentences)
Read the rules given below :
- Present indefinite tense has the action in present time at it's beginning stage.
- In this tenses, we use the first form of the verb or on occasion, s or es is added to it.
- When the subject is i/, we/you/they or some plural number, the only the first form of the Main verb is used after the subject. (I write. We say. You sing. Those men know nothing.)
- When the subject is he/she/it or some singular number, s or es is added to the First form of the main verb. [he comes here daily. she writes legibly. It flies well. Rani works hard. Gopal always stands first.)
Study the following sentences carefully:
- I work.
- He reads a book.
- Ram learns his lesson.
- Sita sings a song.
- Birds chirp.
- The moon shines at night.
- She loves me.
- We play cricket every day
- I always speak the truth
- The peon rings the bell
- I do everything on time
- The children break the toys
- The sunrise in the east.
- We obey our parents.
- We pray to god.
(Negative Sentences)
Read the rules given below
- We can make negative sentences in present indefinite tense. In this case. we use do not or does not before the first form of the main verb.
- When the subject is I, we, you, they or some plural numbers, do not +First form of the main verb is used. [i do not like it.]
- When the subject is he, she, it or some singular number, does not +first form of the main verb is used. [she does not love you.]
Study the following sentences carefully:
- He does not work.
- Rani does not sleep.
- He does not make a noise.
- She does not live here.
- You do not put on dirty clothes.
- We do not go to school together.
- He does not open the window.
- Our teachers do not beat us.
- You do not learn your lesson.
- I do not like such behaviour.
- They do not love each other.
- He does not abuse anybody.
- I do not like your behaviour at all.
- We do not quarrel with our class fellows.
(Interogative Sentences and interro-negative sentences)
Read the rules given below
- We ask a question or make interrogation through such sentence
- The helping verb do or does is placed before the subject, and question-mark(?) is put at the end of the sentences.
- When the subject is I, we, you, they or some plural number, do is used. [do you go there]
- When the subject is he, she, it or some singular numbers, does in use. [does she know you?]
- In interro-negative sentences, first comes to do or does, then the subject, after the subject not and the first form of the main verb.[do we do not eat too live?]
